There are high expectations in Knoxville for Rick Barnes and the Tennessee basketball team. Here are five bold predictions for the season.

We are in some of the best weeks of the entire year. The weather isn’t too hot or too cold. Football season is getting to the make or break point. And, it’s the start of basketball season.

Folks in Knoxville have plenty of reasons to be excited about the 2018-19 basketball season. It’s been mentioned several hundreds of times now, but the Vols return virtually everyone from a team that was SEC Regular Season Co-Champs.

It was also a team that far exceeded expectations. We’ve all also heard this hundreds of times. But the Vols were projected to finished 13th in the SEC last season. That didn’t happen.

The 23 wins in the regular season and making it to the SEC Tournament Championship Game was good enough for a three seed in the NCAA Tournament. However, that ended with a second-round loss to a Loyola-Chicago team that made the Final Four.

Back in April after the season ended up wrote a post giving out bold predictions for the season. That was a long time ago. However, some of those predictions we still believe can and will happen. Here are those predictions.

1. Tennessee will win 26 regular season games

2. Lamonte Turner will be the National 6th Man of the Year

3. Jordan Bone will lead the SEC in assists

4. Admiral Schofield will lead the Vols in points

5. Vols will get a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament

All those could still happen, but in this post, we are going to give you five more bold predictions for the season ahead. Again, these are bold but could very well come true.
