Tennessee basketball: Vols’ individual goals for the 2018-19 season
Jordan Bone – Lead the SEC in assists
Jordan Bone has the potential to be one of the best points guards in the nation. Yet, we are still saying he has the potential. When Bone is aggressive and plays not to be denied at the rim, anything is possible with how good he can be.
He showed how good he could be against Lenior-Rhyne. Bone finished the game with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting with six rebounds and three assists. He isn’t going to lead the SEC with only three assists per game, but Bone can get it moving when the Vols are knocking down their shots.
Bone had four or more assists in 19 games last season. He finished the season only averaging 3.5 assists which was only good enough for 8th in the SEC.
Last season Florida’s Chris Chiozza led the league averaging 6.1 assists per game. Good news for Bone is Chiozza no longer plays in the SEC, but LSU’s Tremont Waters does. Last year the freshman averaged 5.9 assists per game, and he should be even better this season.
This is easily an attainable goal for Bone. The Vols have a lot of players that can score the basketball; it’s just up to Bone to find them.
