Tennessee football: Photo gallery from Vols upset win vs. Kentucky
Tennessee football moves to 5-5 on the season thanks to their dominating win against the No. 11 ranked Kentucky Wildcats.
Jeremy Pruitt now has two top-25 wins on his resume as a first-year head coach thanks to the 24-7 dominating win against the Kentucky Wildcats. From the opening whistle, the Vols looked like the team to beat, and it turns out they were too much for Kentucky.
With two more very winnable games left on the schedule, the Vols have an opportunity to make a bowl game. Tennessee looked great all game long other than the two fumbles trying to put the game away.
Here is the photo gallery from the game. We start out with Jordan Murphy’s 59-yard run that set up a Tennessee touchdown to put the Vols up 24-0.
The second photo displays wide receiver Marquez Callaway catching his first touchdown grab of the season. The Vols were up 10-0 when Jarrett Guarantano threw a hail mary with time expiring in the first half when Callaway came out of nowhere. The touchdown gave Tennessee a 17-point lead in halftime.
There is a photo of defensive linemen Shy Tuttle blocking a field goal attempt. This is the second blocked field goal Tuttle has come up with this season. Another photo shows Darrell Taylor tracking down quarterback Terry Wilson. Taylor finished with four sacks.
One of the last photos in the gallery is head coach Jeremy Pruitt giving offensive lineman Drew Richmond the business. Richmond is usually the offensive linemen always getting called for false start penalties.
Kentucky might have been a bit overrated, but you can’t discredit how dominant the Vols were. They rushed for 215 yards and limited Benny Snell to 81 yards on the ground with zero touchdowns.
Two games left in the season, can the Vols make a bowl game? All they need to do is beat either Missouri or Vanderbilt, and they are bowling. What an accomplishment it would be for Jeremy Pruitt in his first year as a head coach.
