Tennessee football: 5 Vols 2018 seniors who had the best careers
Tennessee football’s 2018 senior class is short in numbers but deep in productivity. These are the five 2018 Volunteers seniors who had the best careers.
It certainly wasn’t the career they envisioned when they committed to Tennessee football. Overall, the Vols’ senior class in 2018 has only 13 players, and they range from graduate transfers JuCo transfers in the 2016 and 2017 classes to members of the Top 5 2014 and 2015 classes.
Looking back, it’s clear that many members of those classes were busts. However, there are a few guys who stuck it out, and some of them have played a huge role in trying to turn around the program under new head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
When Tennessee football’s seniors take the field Saturday for their final home game, they’ll be part of a team trying to reach bowl eligibility in Pruitt’s first year. They may not have any championships to their name, but it’s clear that they can set the standard.
However, as we said, this senior class is thin. Of the 13 who will be honored on Saturday, there are really only five playing right now who have been regular contributors at different points in their careers. So in this post, we’re going to rank those top-notch seniors who had the best careers on Rocky Top.
Some of these guys didn’t reach their potential until this year but have thrived in Jeremy Pruitt’s system. Others made their biggest splash while playing for Butch Jones but are still regular contributors. They have all battled injuries throughout their careers and had more to overcome than most players do.
If there’s any other reason the Vols should desperately want to beat the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, it’s the effort these guys poured into the program. So let’s take a look at the guys we’re talking about. These are the five members of the 2018 Tennessee football senior class who had the best careers with the Vols.
