Tennessee football had very few positives following its 50-17 loss to the Missouri Tigers, but we noted them in our Volunteers stock report after Week 12.
Talk about a roller coaster market! After riding high last week, Tennessee football’s stock took a major plummet on Saturday in a blowout home loss to the Missouri Tigers. It was the last thing fans wanted to see on Senior Day, and everything was ugly.
From key injuries to numerous personnel issues to simply bad play, that was a game that everybody would want to forget. However, with a 5-6 record going into their final game of the season, the Vols still have something to play for.
As a result, we still have to look at where Tennessee football stands as a program at this moment. And while they’re few and far between, there are some positives right now to point to for the Vols, which we’ll acknowledge here.
However, our negatives in this week’s stock report are pretty magnified. Just a heads up, we left the fan base off the list this week. That’s because although their showing was poor on Saturday, fans shouldn’t have to show up for such an atrocious game by their favorite team.
But there were plenty of other things to criticize, and we’ll have no trouble getting to those issues throughout this breakdown. You’ll want to pay attention to this one because it’s going to be key in terms of determining what will be a factor when the Vols try to reach bowl eligibility in Nashville on Saturday.
So let’s go ahead and take a look at what kind of shape they’re in heading into the game against the Vanderbilt Commodores. This is our Tennessee football stock report following the Vols’ Week 12 loss to the Missouri Tigers.
