Tennessee football: Week 13 Vols, SEC and Top 25 predictions
Tennessee football’s road trip to the Vanderbilt Commodores lead our Volunteers, SEC and Top 25 predictions for the 2018 season.
While Tennessee football took a brutal beatdown last weekend, so did many of our gambling picks. With one week left to go in the regular season, we fell even further behind in our overall records when it comes to numbers that matter.
Now, as the Vols get set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores, the stakes are high for them and us. We are trying to somehow get above that 52 percent mark in gambling picks, while they are trying to reach bowl eligibility. Here’s a look at how we all fared over the weekend.
Week 12 record (Record on gambling picks are tiebreakers)
Billy Williford: 23-13 overall
12-2 straight-up; 11-11 gambling (6-5 ATS, 5-6 O/U)
Caleb Calhoun: 22-14 overall
12-2 straight-up; 10-12 gambling (6-5 ATS, 4-7 O/U)
Garrett Sanders: 18-18 overall
11-3 straight-up; 7-15 gambling (4-7 ATS, 3-8 O/U)
Week 12 record on unanimous gambling picks: 4-6
As you can see, none of us were above .500 on gambling picks, and our unanimous picks were below .500 once again. The most interesting part of all this was the fact that we now have a new leader in our overall standings, which you can see below.
Overall record
Billy Williford: 215-142 overall
103-26 straight-up; 112-116 gambling (53-61 ATS, 59-55 O/U)
Caleb Calhoun: 214-143 overall
101-28 straight-up; 113-115 gambling (54-60 ATS, 59-55 O/U)
Garrett Sanders: 205-152 overall
94-35 straight-up; 111-117 gambling (57-57 ATS, 54-60 O/U)
Overall record on unanimous gambling picks: 43-47
So we’re all struggling on gambling picks, but we all have a chance to have a strong finish. This week’s predictions have to come early, as our SEC and Top 25 games begin on Thanksgiving. And there are lots of games to pick.
All teams in the conference are playing, and four have non-conference games. That gives us nine SEC games to cover overall. Meanwhile, there are four non-SEC games featuring two Top 25 teams, which gives us 13 games to predict this weekend and plenty of chances to fix our betting woes. As always, we’ll pick the games in the order that they’re scheduled but close with Tennessee football’s match-up.
Can any of us improve on our fortunes? Will a strong week change everything about this year? Let’s go ahead and find out now. These are our Tennessee football, SEC and Top 25 predictions for the final weekend of regular season games.
