It’s hard to believe that Washington State is a favorite over Washington since they were projected to finish 5th in the Pac-12 North to begin the season. Gardner Minshew has been nothing but outstanding this season leading the nation in passing touchdowns with 36 and passing yards with 4,325.
Washington’s defense has been absolutely fantastic ranking in the top-20 in total defense all season long. And, Chris Peterson is still one of the best coaches in the nation. With the inclement weather, this should be a low scoring game.

Maybe Tennessee football should’ve hired Mike Leach after all. The guy is on a roll and could potentially put the Washington State Cougars in the College Football Playoff. Well, he is the Pac-12’s last hope after all. And it comes down to a Friday night home game against the in-state rival Washington Huskies to get there.
All due respect to Chris Petersen’s team and the balance he runs on offense, I’ve got WSU dictating this game at home. They’re not going to slip up in Pullman on a Friday night. And because they make the Huskies play their game, they’ll cover while also hitting the over.

The Apple Cup couldn’t been any more exciting than this year’s matchup! You got a Washington Huskies team that was projected preseason to be in the watch of going to the College Football Playoff by this game. They only ended up disappointing everyone. You also got the Washington State Cougars who have exceeded everyone’s expectations from the preseason. Mike Leach has built something special in Pullman.
The story of this game will be Washington State’s high scoring offense going up against Washington’s stellar defense. As we all know, what do high scoring offenses do to opposing defenses who are stellar? They still outscore the other team regardless of how good the opposing defense is. The advantage in this one will go to the Cougars. Definitely take the over in this one. Washington State will put up more points than the Huskies and it will be a huge win for the Cougars.
