No. 4 Michigan Wolverines at No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes

Saturday, Nov. 24 at Noon E.T.; Ohio Stadium; Columbus, Ohio

TV: Fox; Line: Michigan -4.5; Over/Under: 57

Billy Williford

This game ranks up there with West Virginia vs. Oklahoma as the best game of the day. Michigan controls their own destiny to make the College Football Playoffs. If they just keep winning, there is no way they get left out.

I’ve doubted Michigan all season long, but I think they get it done. Their defense is one of the best in the nation, and their offense is good enough to control the game. Ohio State should have a better showing on defense this week, but it won’t be enough to win.

By far the most exciting game of the day, we’re here to see if the Michigan Wolverines can finally get the best of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Jim Harbaugh’s team is looking to get over the hump to win the Big Ten East in order to finally capture the Big Ten Championship and reach the College Football Playoff. Can they finally do it against Urban Meyer’s team, who is looking to do the same?

I say yes. But if they do, it’ll be while this game hits the Under. I know OSU’s defense played horribly last week. This week, though, I think Michigan is going to shorten the game and use its own defense for the win. The Wolverines will control the game all day, and they’ll even cover, as they finally get over the hump.

This is basically the Big Ten Championship. Don’t get me wrong, Northwestern has had a great year overall. But this game will have more meaning for both teams than it will for the winner coming out this game and Northwestern. Obviously we know what is at stake here. Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh both have something to prove in this one. More likely than not, the loser of this game will be fired by the end of the season.

Talent wise, both of these teams look fantastic on paper. So you know this is going to be a very competitive game between these two. Where the defining factor comes in though is what these two teams have had to deal with this season. For Michigan, they haven’t had to deal with the off the field distractions with what Ohio State has had to deal with. That alone makes me believe that the Wolverines are more focused and more prepared to be in the Playoff Picture. I like the fact that this game is being played at Ohio State for the Buckeye’s sake, but Michigan is the team that will come out on top in this one in a very close matchup.
