Marquez Callaway and Jauan Jennings were both a bit banged up in the game, and Jarrett Guarantano was under pressure all game. On top of that, he was missing a lot of easy passes even when he could deliver throws.

As a result, the passing game in general was awful for Tennessee football in their loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores. However, Callaway fought to make this a game with a few specific plays throughout the evening.

The guy did have three receptions for 36 yards, and although it was a seemingly meaningless touchdown, he scored one in the fourth quarter. Had UT converted the two-point conversion, it could have become an interesting game.

On top of that, he put the Vols in position to come back when it was still a game in the third quarter. Down 17-7, Callaway returned a punt 25 yards almost to midfield. This would have been the perfect chance for Jeremy Pruitt’s team to make this a game going into the fourth.

The offense stalled thanks to a four-yard loss on a failed first down RPO instead. It ruined the whole drive and their momentum. But that wasn’t Callaway’s fault. He did what he could, and for that, he belongs on the list.
