He wasn’t always the flashiest player for Tennessee football. And he definitely wasn’t even the best running back on the team when it came to what he could do with the ball in his hands. But Tim Jordan was a model of consistency.

In any successful season, Jordan would not have been on this list. But his stat line was enough to get on here, and that’s a testament to how bad the Vols were this year. However, Jordan can’t get all the blame for that.

The sophomore running back made a splash early, as he was the top performer in the season-opener against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Jordan continued to be a guy that Jeremy Pruitt could rely on throughout the season after that to be productive.

Against the Kentucky Wildcats, Jordan had his peak performance. He ran for 63 yards and a touchdown and had 41 receiving yards. For the year, Jordan had 522 rushing yards and three touchdowns, averaging four yards a carry, and 116 receiving yards.

In addition to picking up yards offensively, Jordan was also productive in pass protection. He was really the only guy who could consistently block at running back, and that versatility was a huge deal for the Vols.
