The Tennessee football team is coming off a 5-7 season. Here is our ranking of the five wins based on excitement.

Well, it wasn’t a 4-8 season with zero SEC wins, but it wasn’t much better. The Tennessee football team is coming off a 5-7 season with two wins against top-25 teams at the time of the game. The other three wins were against teams that the Vols should have handled easily. However, that didn’t happen.

There could have been more wins on the season if the Vols could have finished the game against the South Carolina Gamecocks. I’m not trying to put all the blame on the referees, but they had a horrendous pass interference call against Baylen Buchanan.

Wasn’t 5-7 around what most people expected? Everyone got excited about how the possibility of beating West Virginia but we quickly found that wasn’t going to happen. Another game where most fans thought Tennessee had a chance was against the Gators, and the Vols failed to show up.

In this post, we are going to rank the five wins in order of excitement it brought the program. Again, three of the wins were expected and didn’t do much for the fans. The Auburn and Kentucky wins were huge at that point in the season, yet both ended up not meaning much with two straight losses to Missouri and Vanderbilt to end the season.

We start our ranking with the 24-0 win over UTEP. A Miners team that brought a 14-game losing streak into Neyland Stadium.
