5. What news breaks regarding Quavaris Crouch?

So here’s what reports are currently saying about Quavaris Crouch. Ryan Callahan of GoVols247 says Tennessee football is trending with the four-star athlete. However, the 6’3″ 222-pound prospect out of Harding University in Charlotte, N.C. is not expected to publicly commit until after the early signing period.

Why is this a story, then? Well, Crouch is reportedly going to privately tell the team he’s committed to during the early signing period. The trick, though, is that this is going to be hard to keep under wraps for two months.

Pay attention to all the hell that breaks loose related to Crouch on Vol Twitter for the next month and a half as a result of this. In fact, pay attention to everything that breaks loose throughout the next couple of days.

There could definitely be some signs in there as to where he’s going to go. For a while, the Clemson Tigers were the favorite to land Crouch, but the 247Sports Crystal Ball now has the Vols as the favorite. If Rocky Top has been trending that way for a while, which it has been, that has to be good news for them.

Crouch could play running back or linebacker in college, and given the lack of proven depth, the Vols could definitely use him at linebacker. But either spot would be valuable and a huge plus for Jeremy Pruitt and co. So this guy’s commitment is a huge part of the future of the Vols, and that’s why he’s somebody to follow.
