No.1 – Deep run in March for Tennessee basketball

I can’t say this would make the masses the happiest because no matter how good the basketball team is, football is still the king of Rocky Top.

However, nothing would make the Tennessee basketball aficionado happier than watching this year’s team make a Final Four run and have a chance to win a National Championship.

How rewarding would that be for Rick Barnes and the players that have been doubted their entire careers? And what about the fan base that has been more than patient the past ten years?

Not to mention it would be the first Final Four appearance in school history and quite frankly it couldn’t happen to a better coach or a group of players.

This shouldn’t go in one ear and out the other.

The Vols have a legit chance to win a National Championship, and they are doing it with a team effort. Earlier this week we wrote about how despite Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield stealing a lot of the praise, which is much deserved, by the way, Jordan Bone has been sensational this season.

Yves Pons has stepped up in a big way bringing his versatile defensive skills to the starting lineup. And, his freakish athleticism that no one on the court can match.

Then, you can’t forget about Kyle Alexander and Jordan Bowden who are having the best years of their careers. And, the Vols are doing all this without last season’s SEC Sixth Man of the Year, Lamonte Turner.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Tennessee Athletic’s program for 2019. And, despite a National Championship in football, there isn’t much that could trump a Final Four run.
