Long snapper. Baltimore Ravens. Morgan Cox. 8. player. 26.

He never picks up any stats, but Morgan Cox is a key long-snapper. That’s a rare position to brag about unless you’ve been one for nine years with the same franchise. Cox has even made the Pro Bowl specifically as a long snapper.

Yes, we have him at No. 8 because a long snapper can only have so much of an impact. But Tennessee football has taken pride in specialists being impact players in the NFL, and Cox has been no different.

The veteran has a crucial role to play in making sure his kickers do their job. And we know that Justin Tucker is one of the most reliable kickers in the NFL. He owes a lot of that to a guy like Cox, who continues to make solid snaps to make sure he has easy kicks.

Tucker would not have gone 35-of-39 on field goals this year, including nailing five kicks beyond 50 yards, had it not been for Cox. When the NFL Playoffs come and the games get closer while the weather gets colder, Cox has an even bigger role to play. As I say this, I almost want to move him higher up on this list. That’s how seriously I take his role as a long snapper.
