Tennessee football worth over $700 million – Patrick Brown, GoVols247

The Tennessee Vols football program could be worth over $700 million on the open market. This was based on the results of a study by Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. The results were published in The Wall Street Journal. UT was ranked No. 10 overall being valued at $728 million.

"Tennessee’s valuation in 2018 actually dipped slightly from $745 million in 2017 as the Vols dropped one spot in the rankings.Essentially the study, according to the WSJ, “calculates what a college team would be worth on the open market if it could be bought and sold like a professional sports franchise” by analyzing “each program’s revenues and expenses along with cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections.”"

Tennessee basketball remains No. 3 – Mike Wilson, Knoxville News Sentinel
