The Tennessee basketball team went 2-0 this past week in SEC play. Here are a few highlights from the past week plus a look ahead to Arkansas and Alabama.

What a week it was. The Tennessee basketball team headed to Missouri, where they hadn’t had much success in the past, in fact, they held a 1-5 lifetime record in Columbia. After a slow start that gave the Vols their largest deficit of the season, they went on a 32-12 run the end the half and never looked back.

Then came the second of the back-to-back road games against the Florida Gators. Noone thought this two-game road trip was going to be easy. Typically Cunuzo Martin teams play with a lot of intensity with tough pressuring defense. And, then there is Florida, which rivalry games are always a challenge, especially on the road.

But, the Vols came out of the week 2-0 and extended their winning streak to ten games. If that isn’t impressive enough, only one game in the winning streak was decided by ten points or less, which was the three-point win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs on December 9th.

Tennessee hasn’t lost a game since before Thanksgiving. Let me repeat, before Thanksgiving!

In fact, the Tennessee football team who hasn’t played since November 24th was the last to lose a game between the two programs.

In this post, we are going to break down a few highlights from the past week as well as look ahead at the games against Arkansas and Alabama. We begin with the 17.5 point winning margin from two conference games.
