Looking Ahead

Tennessee will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host the young but talented Arkansas Razorbacks. Then on Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide roll into Knoxville for what should be a ‘redemption’ game.

Arkansas isn’t a team the Vols can afford to mess around with. They are 1-2 in conference play with losses to Florida and LSU, but they have big man Daniel Gafford who is a matchup nightmare. He’s coming off a 32-point performance against the Tigers where he shot 14-of-19 from the field and added seven rebounds.

Alabama comes to town on Saturday with either a 1-3 or 2-2 conference record depending on Wednesday’s outcomes against Missouri. Remember last year’s game? The Vols took a six-game winning streak into Tuscaloosa and got hit in the mouth.

The Tide dominated the entire game and won by 28 points, giving Tennessee their worst loss of the season. Something tells me, this year will be much different even though Bama has another outstanding freshman leading the way. Kira Lewis Jr. is averaging 13.6 points per game in conference play and go off for 20 night given night.

According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, Tennessee has a 94 percent chance to beat Arkansas and a 92 percent chance to beat the Tide. It will be interesting to see how the team bounces back after a hard-fought win against the Gators.
