Tennessee football had four former players see action in the divisional round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs. Here’s a look at how former Volunteers played.

After every former Tennessee football player played on losing teams in the NFL Wild-Card round of the 2019 playoffs, the opposite happened in the divisional round. Every former Vol who saw any sort of action won.

There were five former Vols set to see action heading into the weekend. However, Eric Berry of the Kansas City Chiefs remained injured. That put him in a category with Derek Barnett of the Philadelphia Eagles. Meanwhile, Kalhlil McKenzie and Alex Ellis, also of the Chiefs, remained on injured reserve.

That left four former Tennessee football players who saw any sort of action in the divisional round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs. Two of them saw limited action, and we’re going to give them one page in this slideshow recapping how former Vols performed.

After that, we’ll have a separate page for each former Vol who saw significant action. And finally, we’ll look ahead to the AFC and NFC Championship games. What’s clear, though, is that now every team remaining in the playoffs has a former Vol.

As a result, it’s a guarantee that a former Vol will make the Super Bowl, continuing a tradition on Rocky Top, and a former Vol will also win the Super Bowl. So even as they have fallen apart this decade in terms of wins and losses, the Vols are still well-represented in the professional ranks.

The question now is which team will be the one to win it all? Obviously, the Chiefs would be the team to root for as they have four former Vols, but only one is guaranteed to play the rest of the playoffs, and only two have a realistic chance at playing. Anyway, before the conference championship games, here’s a look at how former Tennessee football players performed in the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round.
