Tennessee basketball week in review: Vols good enough for No.1 ranking?
No.3 – Scored 106 against the Arkansas Razorbacks
We begin with the 106 scoring output from the Vols against a very young Arkansas team. The team Mike Anderson put out on the court resembled a Tennessee team from just a couple of years ago. There was a lot of talent, just not enough to go against such a veteran bunch like the Vols.

Busting Brackets
It really showed on the defensive end, Tennessee got whatever they wanted offensively and honestly could have scored 120 if they kept pushing the entire game.
Plus-100 point performance doesn’t happen that often, in fact, it’s only happened four other times in the past ten seasons.
2016-17: 103 vs. Appalachian State
It’s crazy to think that Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield came off the bench in this game to score 18 points combined. Both players are averaging around 18 points apiece this season.
2010-11: 104 vs. Memphis
If you can remember that far back, the Vols were coming off a 91-78 loss to Charleston and Memphis was ranked in the top 25. But, Tennessee ended up getting the 20-point win thanks to 17 points from Tobias Harris and 16 from Scotty Hopson.
2009-10: 124 vs. UNC Asheville
This was the Elite Eight year when Tennessee had a ton of athletes. But, this game produced a shooting affair. They ended up shooting 16-of-29 from the three-point line and had six players score in double figures in the game.
2008-09: 114 vs. Chattanooga
What a way to start a season. The Vols dropped 114 against the Mocs in route to a 39-point win. Tyler Smith led the way with 21 points, and Cameron Tatum scored 19 off the bench.
Back to the Arkansas game, the Vols shot 61.1 percent from the three-point line with Lamonte Turner leading the way with 21 points. Jordan Bowden also had a big game scoring 19 points going 5-of-6 from the three-point line.
