Tennessee football had four former Volunteers play in the 2018-2019 conference Championship games. Here is how they performed in the NFL Playoffs.

Once again, Tennessee football was well-represented in this year’s NFL Playoffs. The Vols had seven players on the four teams playing in the AFC and NFC Championships, and each team had at least one player.

But not all of them saw action, and only two of those players are heading to the Super Bowl. Still, the Vols continue their tradition of putting some of their own in the big game, which happens much more often than it doesn’t.

In fact, this will be the 10th straight year Tennessee football has put at least one player in the Super Bowl, and there’s only been one year since 1992 (2008) in which there were no former Vols in the championship game.

That’s an incredible stat, made more impressive by the fact that this streak continues in the midst of the worst season in school history. However, what role did these former Vols play to get their teams to the Super Bowl?

Well, that’s where this post comes in. For the third straight week, we’re going to recap how Vol representatives performed in the NFL Playoffs. For the record, it’s worth noting that they didn’t have to play on winning teams to be top performers.

Also, John Kelly of the Los Angeles Rams and Kahlil McKenzie and Alex Ellis of the Kansas City Chiefs all saw now action. So we’re going to leave them off the list. But of the other four, this is our look at how former Tennessee football players played in this year’s conference championship games.
