Former Vols quarterback Tee Martin returns to his alma mater as an assistant coach for Jeremy Pruitt. We take a look back at his best ten games as a player.

Tee Martin came to fame in the college football world twenty years ago when he led the Tennessee football team to their first National Championship since 1967, if that year is even claimable.

It was a magical season that involved a lot of luck. I’m not suggesting the Vols weren’t talented they did finish13-0 with wins over six ranked opponents at the time of the meetings. However, they did win six games by ten points or less and three games by a combined eight points.

Tennessee started the season ranked No.10 in the nation and many thought they had an outside shot to win a National Title; there was only one problem, no Peyton Manning.

Manning is arguably the greatest quarterback in Tennessee history, even though he couldn’t beat the Florida Gators. But, it wasn’t just the departure of Manning that was going to hurt the Vols, players like Marcus Nash, Leonard Little, and Terry Fair, were all drafted in the NFL.

However, don’t be fooled, there was a lot of talent returning like running back Jamal Lewis. There was also a linebacking core led by Al Wilson who was a first-round draft pick.

Then there was Tee Martin, a first-year starter looking to take the reigns of one of the best football programs in the country. As you well know, the rest is history. In this post, we are going to break down his ten best games as a Volunteer.
