Tennessee football: Remembering Tee Martin’s 10 greatest games played with Vols
October 9, 1999
Neyland Stadium; Knoxville, Tennessee
It seemed like almost every game Tee Martin started it was against a top-ten team. In fact, Martin played seven games against top-ten teams and twice happened to be against Georgia.
We touched on the first go around earlier with the 22-3 Tennessee win. This go around was just as good for Volnation and Tee Martin.
This game was extremely important thanks to the loss earlier in the season to Florida. If the Vols wanted a shot at the SEC Championship, they couldn’t drop another conference game, especially to an SEC East rival like Georgia.
Martin did throw two interceptions against the Bulldogs, but he bounced back with four total touchdowns. This time, he did a lot of damage on the ground scoring three rushing touchdowns. He also had a passing touchdown to help the Vols score 37 points.
Honestly, there are a few performances that could be ranked in different ways. There was a common theme though; Martin scored at least three or four touchdowns a lot. One thing is for sure, Martin made a lasting impact on the Tennessee football program and had a handful of amazing performances to prove it.
