26. . Long Snapper. Baltimore Ravens. Morgan Cox. 9. player

Super Bowl XLVII

Baltimore Ravens: 34

San Francisco 49ers: 31

People may forget about Morgan Cox. But his career as a long snapper for Tennessee football has translated to the NFL. He’s even made a couple of Pro Bowls in that position, and yes, he won a Super Bowl with that role.

Justin Tucker is one of the most elite kickers in the NFL. A great kicker needs a great long snapper, and Cox has consistently delivered on that. In this game, the Baltimore Ravens had to make two field goals at different times. Both were under 40, but Cox still had to snap the ball right.

He did just that, and Tucker making both kicks allowed the Ravens to win the game 34-31. If one is missed, the San Francisco 49ers could have gone for a game-winning field goal when they were down 34-29 late. With Sam Koch averaging 47 yards a punt and Tucker making all field goals and extra points, Cox was a big deal in this game.

By the way, this guy is still balling out for the Ravens as a long snapper. When we talk about the tradition of former Vols in the NFL on special teams, don’t forget about what Cox has been doing for about a decade now.
