The Tennessee Lady Vols travel to Nashville Sunday to face the Vanderbilt Commodores. Here is our preview of the women’s basketball Volunteers’ road game.

After a six-game losing streak, the Tennessee Lady Vols have slowly begun to right the ship and won two straight games. On Sunday, they’ll be looking to make it three straight as they head to Nashville to face the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Holly Warlick’s team is coming off a home win over the Florida Gators, the worst team in the SEC. Now, at Vanderbilt, they will be looking to score a win over the second worst team in the SEC. Both Vanderbilt and Florida are 1-7 in the SEC, and Vanderbilt is 6-15 overall.

At 14-7 overall and 3-5 in the SEC, this game could get the Tennessee Lady Vols closer to .500 in the conference after a 1-5 start. Here is all the information you need for this Sunday afternoon in-state match-up.

When: Sunday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. E.T.

Where: Memorial Gymnasium, Nashville, Tenn.

TV: ESPN2

Live Stream: WatchESPN

Tennessee’s last road win came in its SEC opener at the Auburn Tigers. They have actually been better on the road than at home this year, also scoring big non-conference road wins over the Oklahoma State Cowgirls and Texas Longhorns.

That’s been a trend all season. Five of UT’s seven losses have come at home, as did four games during their losing streak. That should make this game a welcome match-up on the road, but it’s worth noting that they might essentially be playing a home game in Nashville.

This is the last game for the Tennessee Lady Vols before they take a week off. That’s exactly what they’ll need before facing the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road next week. However, they can’t look ahead to that.

Given the way these Lady Vols have struggled this year, they can’t afford to take Vanderbilt lightly. Tennessee has proven more times than not that its more than capable of choking against a bad team. Right now, they are still on the NCAA Tournament bubble. They need this win not to fall further into it.
