Tennessee football will look to close strong in its 2019 recruiting class. Here are the top 10 players the Volunteers are pursuing for National Signing Day.

With the end of the Super Bowl comes the beginning of a hectic week at the college level. National Signing Day is now coming up, and Tennessee football is still trying to bolster its first full recruiting class put together by second year head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

The Vols entered the week with 21 commitments and 19 people who already signed from the early signing period. Of those commitments, 11 are four-stars on Rivals, and all of them have signed, while 10 are three-stars.

This class was already good enough for Tennessee football to be ranked No. 15 nationally. However, that was good for only No. 6 in the SEC at the time, meaning the Vols have a ton of work to do if they want to remain competitive in league play.

They did have a surprisingly good early signing period, though, with Eric Gray committing and Quavaris Crouch signing a few days later. So may Pruitt could pull off a few more surprises when this Wednesday comes.

Coming off a second straight losing season, though, and with a head coach who had no previous credibility as a head coach, recruiting was naturally going to be difficult. For Pruitt, the focus needed to be on shoring up the biggest weaknesses from the 2017 team.

He has largely done that with his commitments but could use more. In this post, we’re going to look at the prospects to pay attention to this week. These prospects are ranked based on their talent and how realistic it is that the Vols could land them.

Getting the top three or four guys on this list would be a huge boost for the Vols and put their class back in the Top 10. Again, given the circumstances, that’s all you can hope for if you’re a UT fan with this class.

So knowing that, let’s go ahead and take a look at the specific personnel pickups Rocky Top needs. This is what could immediately rebuild the program. Here are the top 10 prospects to watch for Tennessee football ahead of National Signing Day in 2019.
