Tennessee football: Vols top 10 targets for National Signing Day 2019
No surprise here. Tennessee football’s biggest move this offseason was to try to shore up its offensive line as much as possible. Given how historically bad it was last year with so many guys learning the pro-style, that made sense.

The Vols have done just that with this recruiting class overall, signing three four-star offensive linemen and one three-star offensive lineman. The star of the class so far has been Wanya Morris, a four-star tackle out of Loganville, Ga.
However, Darnell Wright would become the star of the class if he commits Wednesday. Wright is a five-star and already listed at 6’6″ 300 pounds. The Huntington High School prospect out of southern West Virginia is the No. 2 ranked player at his position nationally, according to Rivals.
Should he commit, he would immediately give the Vols and Jim Chaney’s offense a huge boost going forward. In fact, Wright’s commitment is more important than any combination of guys you could name also on this list. He’s that big of a deal and would help build depth where there was absolutely none last year.
For a while, the Vols have remained the favorite to land Wright. However, the West Virginia Mountaineers and North Carolina Tar Heels are both wildcard teams to steal him away. Jeremy Pruitt can’t let that happen.
If Tennessee football lands Darnell Wright and just one of the two inside linebackers we named, National Signing Day will be a success. It may not be a Top 10 class, although Wright could propel it to that, but it will be a class that shores up all the Vols’ needs. Wright is just that big of a deal for Rocky Top.
