Dywan Griffin doesn’t even have a rating on Rivals but is a three-star across other major services. It’s a bit odd because Tennessee football is the one premier program that appears to be targeting him at a high level.

But the 6’2″ 180-pound receiver could be a major steal for the Vols. Griffin was the speedy type of player who would have been a perfect fit for the UT offense had Kendal Briles been hired as offensive coordinator.

Still, Jim Chaney should be able to make the same type of impact on him, so there’s not much to worry about there. Chaney has shown an ability to get the ball in the hands of guys who are elite playmakers. Just look at Cordarrelle Patterson, who now has a Super Bowl ring. As a result, Griffin is a guy who would be a very good pickup for Rocky Top.

He is also looking at the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Memphis Tigers and UTSA Roadrunners. For playing time, Griffin might go to one of those schools. But he’d be a great steal for Rocky Top with his speed, as it would help open up the passing game with all the big receivers the Vols have right now. So keep an eye on what he does.
