Now we get to a bit of controversy. Conventional wisdom says Cameron Wynn, like Lakia Henry, won’t commit to Tennessee football since he has already decommitted. However, I say don’t give up on him just yet. Alontae Taylor is an in-state athlete who committed, decommitted and committed again last year. Why not hope for the same this year?

The Chattanooga athlete out of Notre Dame High School still has the Vols in play. At 5’9″ 165 pounds, he truly is an athlete, but the Vols could use him at wide receiver, cornerback or safety. He has primarily played quarterback in high school as well along with some running back, demonstrating his versatility.

There has been no clear leader for Wynn as he never really trimmed his list down, so that means that Jeremy Pruitt could still have a great chance to land him. And, again, he’s a realistic goal who would be a huge pickup for Rocky Top.

Pruitt hasn’t just gone after players because they are in-state. But Wynn is an in-state guy he has targeted, so clearly he values him. It would be a bit of an embarrassment if a three-star athlete from East Tennessee that the Vols wanted ended up going elsewhere. So they probably want to avoid losing him.
