4. Ledarrius Cox flips to Auburn, Anthony Harris stays with Vols, and Georgia Pickens stays with Auburn.

One big story that comes out of National Signing Day is who flips and who stays. For Tennessee football, two-thirds of the players generating headlines for that possibility will be bade news overall on Rocky Top.

The Vols will have one player flip, one player stay, and fail to flip another recruit looking at them. Starting with the big loss, three-star defensive tackle LeDarrius Cox will flip. The 6’4″ 310-pound prospect out of McGill Toolen High School in Mobile, Ala. has been committed to UT since April of 2018, but the Auburn Tigers have made a major play in recent months.

As a result, Cox will flip on National Signing Day, and that will be a huge loss for the Vols. After all, they already lost everybody on the defensive line, and Cox was supposed to be a guy to help shore up the depth there.

Meanwhile, five-star wide receiver George Pickens is committed to the Auburn Tigers. But we already mentioned that no new receivers will join the class, which means that the Vols won’t get the 6’4″ 190-pound prospect out of Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala. to flip despite reports that they’ve been targeting him hard and drawing interest from him in recent weeks.

Finally, for a bit of good news, four-star safety Anthony Harris has been a threat to flip from the Vols for a while. His home state school, the North Carolina Tar Heels, have been targeting him heavily and making headway with Mack Brown. But Harris has too great of an opportunity to play early and for a secondary specialist in Knoxville under Jeremy Pruitt. He won’t pass that up.
