5. Lakia Henry and Cameron Wynn sign elsewhere after previously decommitting.

This one was pretty expected. But it hurt when the news actually broke on Wednesday. Tennessee football appeared to have scored big early on the recruiting trail with these two commitments, and their decisions to leave were painful for the Vols.

Lakia Henry was the biggest loss. A junior college four-star inside linebacker, he could have come in and immediately be a rotational guy. Henry was committed to the Vols from May of 2018 until early January. However, he decommitted Jan. 5.

Then, on National Signing Day, he wasn’t even in the picture. Instead, he committed to the Ole Miss Rebels, which just cemented what was a huge loss for Rocky Top. Adding Henry To’oto’o could offset that, but it was still an issue.

Meanwhile, Cameron Wynn could have still been in play Wednesday. The three-star athlete out of Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tenn. was an early commitment to the Vols, way back in 2017. However he also decommitted in 2017 as Jeremy Pruitt was hired.

The Vols were technically among the candidates to still land him, though, on National Signing Day. And his decommitment and decision to sign with the Florida Atlantic Owls still felt like a loss for Rocky Top.

Again, there were things that happened on Signing Day to offset these. But it is still a bit rough on the recruiting trail for the Vols to see guys they had locked up commit elsewhere. As a result, we felt the need to mention it on our list.
