Tennessee football recruiting: 5 Vols signees for 2019 who could contribute early
Tennessee football’s 2019 recruiting class was about shoring up lots of needs. With those needs, here are the five Volunteers signees who could play early.
It’s no secret after a second straight losing season that Tennessee football needs help. Jeremy Pruitt could only do so much with the team he had, and it didn’t help that he was completely overhauling the schemes for the Vols on both sides of the ball.
Well, with a recruiting class designed to address direct needs, it’s safe to say that the Vols now have a collection of guys who could see the field immediately. And they will have as much of a chance as anybody to do just that.
With glaring holes at certain positions and clear talent coming in, expect more than one member of this 2019 class to start, maybe even from day one. It doesn’t matter that this class is not even a top 10 class. It’s got exactly what Tennessee football needs.
But who are these impact players going to be? Which players from the 2019 class stand out. Well, in this post, we’re going to break down exactly which players have the best chance of contributing early for Rocky Top.
Our criteria for these rankings include the talent of the players, their experience, and the needs at the position they are playing. The combination of all three, quite honestly, leaves an opening for up to 15 guys to contribute early.
Here, though, we’re going to break it down to five guys. These are five players who are clearly at the right positions and have the talent to make the early impact we’re talking about. In fact, it’s almost going to be shocking if they aren’t starting by the middle of this season.
So who are these early contributors we’re talking about? What immediate impact could this most recent Vols recruiting class have on Rocky Top. Take a look here. These are five Tennessee football signees from 2019 who could contribute immediately.
