Three of Tennessee football’s top four wideouts entering this year are seniors, and one of their two contenders in the slot is another receiver. As a result, the Vols are about to need a lot of help there for the future.

Unfortunately for them, they only got two commitments in their 2019 class. So a couple of transfers could really help them. Trevon Sidney is one of those guys. Once a four-star who committed to the USC Trojans, Sidney has two years of eligibility left.

Here’s the real kicker. Sidney committed specifically to Tee Martin, who is obviously now the UT wide receivers coach. With Martin now on Rocky Top, the Vols should have a great chance to lure him there despite his roots all being in California. He was considering the Miami Hurricanes and Michigan Wolverines initially, so he is probably willing to travel far from home.

At 5’11”, he would be more of a slot receiver. But that’s okay since the Vols need help anywhere they can get it. Sidney showed he could be effective when he had three receptions for 72 yards against the UNLV Rebels this past year. He would definitely help stretch the field for the Vols in 2020, so Jeremy Pruitt should use Martin to target him.
