Tennessee football’s 2019 recruiting class is finished, and they’re already building their 2020 class. Here are 10 prospects the Volunteers should target.

After a top 12 class in 2019, Tennessee football has all the ingredients for a very successful 2020 recruiting haul. They have already gotten started, and while spring practice is the next focus, the Vols will be all in on recruiting after that until the season starts.

So with National Signing Day in the books and the month of February coming to an end, what is the focus for next season’s class? We’ve already covered the needs and advantages facing the program over this next year.

Now it’s time to look at specific individuals for Tennessee football to focus on. That’s where we are going to tailor our focus with this story. It’s time to give you an analysis of some of the elite talent the Vols can pursue.

In this post, we’re going to rank the top 10 prospects for the Vols to go after for 2020. These guys don’t include people who are already committed. They are all players who are still on the open market for next year.

Our criteria include the talent of the player, the advantages the Vols have to land that player, their current standing for that player, and the need the player fits. All of those factors are huge for any recruiting class.

The good news is that after focusing on shoring up his needs in 2019, Jeremy Pruitt can spend a lot more time focusing on talent in 2020. But he still has some needs to address, so it’s not all going to be easy.

Still, there is a wide variety of talent for him to pursue, and he has numerous pipelines to get that talent now thanks to his staff and where the players are. The only remaining big thing is that the Vols actually have to start winning.

Anyway, whatever it takes to get an elite class, let’s go ahead and analyze the players the Vols should be pursuing the most. These are the top 10 Tennessee football recruiting prospects for their 2020 class.
