It’s clear beyond anything else that Tennessee football is going to need help at wide receiver very quickly after next year. Jauan Jennings, Brandon Johnson, Marquez Callaway and Tyler Byrd are all seniors, so Josh Palmer and Jordan Murphy are the only guys who will be back with any legitimate experience as contributors in 2020.

Those two guys will be seniors in 2020 as well. Considering the fact that Jeremy Pruitt only secured two commitments at the position this year, he’s going to need to go for immediate help next year. And the DMV is where he can get it.

Rakim Jarrett is a five-star wide receiver who would be an amazing talent for the Vols. His size isn’t a selling point at 6’0″ 195 pounds, but he has amazing hands and a ton of speed. Given UT’s issues in the slot in previous years anyway, he would be a huge pickup.

Securing Jarrett as a commitment is an uphill climb for the Vols, which is why he’s not higher on our list. But his level of talent combined with the need at the position still get him on the list overall, as there’s no way to avoid those things. Pruitt went to West Virginia for elite talent at his biggest need last year. D.C. is not to far away, so he should go to that area again this year.
