We’re sticking with the wide receiver position, but now we go to a place where Tennessee football has a direct pipeline. Chris Weinke was a head coach at IMG Academy in Bradneton, Fla. for five years, and on top of his connections there, he can sell playing time to any wide receivers at that school for the Vols because of their upcoming needs at that position.

Taking that into account, Michael Redding is the perfect guy for them to target. The 6’2″ 190-pound four-star already has decent size and is very good with the ball in his hands. As a result, if he grows a bit more and puts on even more muscle, he could be a huge mismatch in the future.

One bit of good news for the Vols is it looks like Redding is being more heavily pursued by teams that run the pro-style offense with the major exception of the Arkansas Razorbacks. But it appears for now to have eliminated two of his home state schools, the Florida State Seminoles and the Florida Gators.

The biggest thing the Vols need to be able to sell is that, despite what he did with the Georgia Bulldogs, Jim Chaney will pad receiver stats too if he has the personnel. He did that in 2012, and Redding would give him that personnel.
