Tennessee Lady Vols preview vs. Vanderbilt: Live stream, game time, TV info
The Tennessee Lady Vols will host the Vanderbilt Commodores Thursday night. Here is our preview for the women’s basketball Volunteers.
After two straight embarrassing losses and blowing a huge opportunity at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks this past Sunday, the Tennessee Lady Vols return to the court Thursday night in a must-win scenario. They are in a nothing-to-gain but everything-to-lose situation to close out the season.
Heading into Knoxville to face them Thursday night is a team that is 6-21 and 1-13 in the SEC. The Vanderbilt Commodores have been a disaster, but with Holly Warlick’s team firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble, they have to take this game seriously.
After all, UT has suffered enough bad losses this year, and at 17-10 and 6-8 in the SEC, they still have quite a bit to prove. Unfortunately, this game is all about them not losing more respect than they’ve already lost. Here’s all the information you need for tonight’s match-up.

After facing Vanderbilt, the Tennessee Lady Vols will close out the regular season on the road Sunday at the Ole Miss Rebels. That’s another nothing-to-gain but everything-to-lose game with Ole Miss suffering through a 9-19 season and 3-11 SEC record.
Right now, UT is at No. 47 in the RPI thanks to their No. 25 ranked strength of schedule. But these two games, despite getting them to 19 wins, could do significant damage to their overall resume and put them in even more danger of missing the NCAA Tournament.
Simply put, they have to win both just to stay afloat. That’s the hole they dug for themselves, and it requires beating two teams that will do nothing for them. Then they need to make some noise in the SEC Tournament.
But for now, their focus needs to be on Senior Night. Meme Jackson and Cheridene Green will be playing their last home game and have been through some serious ups and downs with the program, so they’ll deserve to be honored. Graduate transfer Lou Brown has missed the whole year due to an ALC injury, but she’s also technically a senior.
