SEC Tournament: Predicting the 2019 SEC Tournament
Game 5: No.7 Ole Miss (10-8) vs. No.10 Alabama (8-10)
Watch: SECN Time: 7:00 pm ET
Billy Williford prediction: Ole Miss
Billy: If you’ve watched any Alabama basketball you know their shot selection has been awful, with a capital A baby. Sorry, I had to honor Dickie V, it’s March.
The Tide fail to get Donta Hall more involved in the offense, and I believe that’s why they’ve lost so many close games.
Ole Miss should have beat Tennessee and Kentucky in the past two weeks. They have the talent, and they have spectacular guard play in Breein Tyree and Terence Davis. I got the Rebels.
Caleb Calhoun prediction: Alabama
Caleb: This is the bubble game of the first two days. Whichever team wins stays alive in the NCAA Tournament race. Last year, the Alabama Crimson Tide under Avery Johnson turned it on with their talent in the SEC Tournament to get to the Big Dance. They’ve suffered in numerous close games this year, but they’ll finally take out their frustration in this setting. The Tide advance.
Game 6: Winner of Game 2 vs. No.6 Mississippi State (10-8)
Watch: SECN Time: 9:00 pm ET
Billy Williford prediction: Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi State
Winner: Mississippi State
Billy: You could probably still get into this game for free or a really decent price. However, if you’re like me, you’d rather spend that five dollars on a coffee or something.
In our predictions, Vanderbilt is coming off their first win in conference play, and that’s as far as it’s going to go. The Bulldogs are a really good team and could cause a lot of o havoc with Quinndary Weatherspoon.
Caleb Calhoun prediction: Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi State
Winner: Mississippi State
Caleb: Congratulations to the Vanderbilt Commodores for the fact that they’ll get their first conference win on Wednesday. That’ll be followed by a collapse against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Ben Howland’s team is going to dominate from start to finish, even in Nashville. No need to explain why this will be a game.
