No.5 Wisconsin Badgers (23-10)

Madison, WI – Big Ten Conference
Head coach: Greg Gard

Maybe Wisconsin could make a run because it always seems like they do in the NCAA Tournament. However, ten losses don’t typically add up for a deep run in March. Nonetheless, the Vols and Badgers would meet in the Elite 8 if both teams make a run.

Best win

Taking a look at their schedule, Wisconsin has a lot of wins against tournament teams. They beat Ohio State, Minnesota, Maryland, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Michigan. I know Michigan is a No.2 seed, but I’m going with the 72-66 win against Iowa on the road. It came early in the season and as Vol fans are well aware, winning on the road is difficult.

Worst loss

The Badgers have a loss against Western Kentucky which isn’t great. They also lost to Indiana who was 17-15 on the season.

Longest streak

The longest win streak came near the middle of the conference slate where Wisconsin reeled off wins against Michigan, Maryland, and Minnesota.

What they do best

Wisconsin is one of the best defensive teams in the nation with an adjusted defensive efficiency rating of 87.1 which ranks third in the country. They hold opponents to 31.2 (29th) percent from deep and 43.7 (9th) percent from inside the arc.
