No.13 UC Irvine Anteaters (30-5)

Don’t sleep on the Anteaters from UC Irvine. The squad is coached by Russell Turner and won 30 games this season with only five losses.

Best win

Their best win came against fellow South Region team; Saint Mary’s on November 28th. In the five-point win on the road, UC Irvine shot close to 80 percent from the free throw with just six turnovers.

Worst loss

The Anteaters had a couple of losses that make you shake your head including one to the Pacific Tigers. UC Irvine shot the ball reasonably well in that game. However, they turned it over 19 times.

Longest streak

UC Irvine is currently riding a 16-game win streak that began on January 19th. And, while any 16-game win streak is impressive but they didn’t beat any good teams.

What they do best

The Anteaters have the best interior defense in the nation. The only allow opponents to shoot 40.6 percent from inside the arc. They also crash the offensive boards as one of the best teams in the country.
