No.2 Tennessee Volunteers (29-5)

Knoxville, TN – Southeastern Conference
Head coach: Rick Barnes

Best win

This one is tough because the Vols had many good wins. I think you have to consider the two wins against Kentucky, one at home and the other in the SEC Tournament Semifinals. But, then there is the neutral site win over Gonzaga who was ranked No.1 in the nation at the time.

Worst loss

Like Virginia, who we cover later, Tennessee doesn’t have a “bad” loss. Certainly getting beat by 17 points in Rupp Arena or 20 points to Auburn in the SEC Championship Game isn’t great, but those are two quality teams.

Longest streak

After the loss to Kansas in the NIT Season Tip-Off Championship Game, the Vols went on a 19-game win streak. They won 16 of those games by double digits.

What they do best

Despite the showing against Auburn on Sunday Tennessee’s offense is one of the most efficient in the country. They ranked 3rd in adjusted offensive efficiency with a rating of 122.5. The interior defense has been fantastic throughout the season as well only allowing opponents to shoot 55,7 percent from inside the arc.
