No.1 Carsen Edwards, Purdue

Talk about a guy that seems like he’s been in college forever, Carsen Edwards is an absolute stud for the Purdue Boilermakers. And, he’s only a junior! Edwards has taken his game to another level this season scoring 23.0 points per game while shooting 38.6 percent from the floor, including 33.5 percent from deep.

One thing Edwards does not do well and next has is get his teammates involved. Stop Edwards, and you basically stop Purdue. He’s taking 19 shots per game, including ten three-point attempts.

If the Vols and Boilermakers get together in the Sweet 16, Tennessee will have to put a lot of bodies on Edwards. He can get going in a hurry too; he scored 30 points in five games, including a 40 point game again Texas in early December.

Against the Longhorns, Edwards scored 40 points on 15-for-26 from the floor, including 7-for-14 from the three-point line. That ended up being a four-point game on the road, without Edwards, Purdue doesn’t win that game.

Again, he can score the basketball. Only one time all season has Edwards not scored in double figures, which came against Indiana on February 19th. He shot 4-for-24  from the floor, including an abysmal 0-for-10 from deep.
