The Tennessee basketball team embarks on the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Here are five teams all Vol fans should be rooting for during the Sweet 16.

I’m not going to lie, this was a tough one to write. If I know Tennessee basketball fans like I think I do, they cheer for the Vols and against Kentucky, plain and simple. Okay, maybe against Alabama and Florida too.

Honestly, it’s the second weekend of the 2019 NCAA Tournament, who cares what other teams do? All Volnation wants is a Tennessee win.

Of course, everything I just said is true. So, I knew I had to think outside the box for this article. Rooting for other teams is blasphemy, especially when they are teams that have beat the beloved Volunteers during the season.

However, does anyone really want Duke to win? Okay, maybe to say Tennessee was the team that took them down and shut the media up about their love affair with Zion Williamson. But, I want no part of that. Make the National Championship run as easy as possible. Please.

So, that is how I came up with the list of five teams Vol fans should cheer for on Thursday and Friday night. We begin with Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers, who beat Tennessee twice in the past month.
