Tennessee basketball: 5 players for Vols to watch in second weekend of tournament
No.5 – Louis King, Oregon Ducks
Last week we wrote an article about five players to watch from the South Region. It’s incredible the build-up of the tournament, and it’s down to 16 teams just like that. Included in that article was Ducks’ guard Payton Pritchard who deserves some love, that’s why I’m bringing him up.

Since the Pac 12 Tournament began, Pritchard has been on a tear scoring 102 points and has been a big reason why the Ducks have won ten straight games. But, as good as Pritchard has been, Louis King has been just as good.
Before the Pac 12 tournament began King scored a total of ten points on 3-for-12 shooting in two games against Washington and Washington State. But, since then, King has been a different player and has been tough to stop. The 6-foot-9 freshman forward from Jersey City is scoring 16.5 points per game while averaging 50 percent from the three-point line.
Honestly, King could have ranked higher on our list because he’s playing so good but let’s be honest, Oregon is the 12th seed, and they haven’t beat the best teams to advance to the Sweet 16. However, if they beat Virginia, watch out.
There is nothing scarier than a Cinderella playing with nothing to lose with great players playing as well as King is. Watch for the freshman to step up in a big way against Virginia on Thursday night. If he does, you never know what could happen. Maybe an Oregon vs. Tennessee matchup to advance to the Final Four.
