No.1 – Carsen Edwards, Purdue Boilermakers

This wouldn’t be a list if I didn’t add Purdue’s guard Carsen Edwards. Did you see what he did to Villanova? The dude can flat out ball.

Edwards scored a season-high 42 points on 9-for-16 from the three-point line. 16 attempts from deep is ridiculous, but making nine of them is even more jaw-dropping.

Edwards is a volume shooter, call him Kobe, but that gets him going.

Here is a crazy stat for you. Three have been 11 games this season where Tennessee attempted 15 or fewer shots from long-range. Edwards shot 16 in one game.

While Edwards is indeed a player to watch for against the Vols on Thursday don’t get frustrated, he is going to get his. I know that is annoying to say, but he will.

In the tournament alone, he’s scored 68 points on 19-for-44 from the floor, including 13-for-28 from the three-point line. And, he hardly misses from the charity stripe. Edwards ranks 86th in the nation with a percentage of 85.2 percent from the line.

Again, Edwards isn’t the type of player you shut down; he is going to get his. Tennessee just can’t let him get buckets when they matter the most if they want to advance to the Elite Eight.
