No.2 – Contain Carsen Edwards

We’ve highlighted Carsen Edwards in both of our articles about players to watch this NCAA Tournament. You might think we are talking about him too much and maybe so. However, he’s such an impact player, he can change the game with just one shot.

Lamonte Turner stepped up to the plate saying Edwards won’t score as many points against the Vols as he did against Villanova. The Wildcats had no answer surrendering 42 points to the dynamic scorer.

I won’t say I have a problem with what Turner said, after all you want players to feel confident before a game. However, I was always taught trash talk before the game accomplished nothing; it only provided bulletin board material.

In two games against Old Dominion and Villanova, Edwards has scored 68 points on 13-for-28 from the three-point line. He’s also an impressive 17-for-18 from the free throw line.

In 18 games this season, Edwards has poured in 20 points or more. While I hate to say it, Edwards is going to get his. But, if Tennessee can contain him, they will easily get the win to move on the Elite Eight.
