No.1 – Kentucky Wildcats

March 16, 2019 – Nashville, Tennessee

Finally, we come to the best win of the season. And, I’m sure you could have guessed it was the four-point win against the Kentucky Wildcats in the SEC Tournament.

One of the biggest storylines heading into the game was how Tennessee struggled to close out the season with the loss against the Auburn Tigers. The loss gave the Vols the three seed in the SEC Tournament which meant the third matchup of the season against John Calipari and the Wildcats in Semifinals.

After rewatching the game and even at the time it felt like it was for the SEC Championship. Both teams laid it all on the line to reach back-to-back SEC Championship Games.

Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield really showed out with a combined 41 points knocking down five out of ten three-point attempts. Jordan Bone also had an outstanding performance with 18 points on 4-for-8 from the floor, including 2-for-4 from the three-point line.

The win came just a week after the loss to Auburn to end the season. It gave Volnation hope that Tennessee was going to win it’s first SEC Tournament Championship in what seemed like forever.

Despite losing by 20 points to Auburn in the very next game, the Kentucky win was the best one of the season and maybe the past two seasons.
