No.4 – Get John Fulkerson going on the offensive end

John Fulkerson is the energy guy or some even say the glue guy. I think there is a pretty good argument for both of those descriptions.

However, the coaching staff needs to find a way to get Fulkerson involved on the offensive end. It’s not just getting him involved either; they have to help him develop confidence. At times during the season, Fulkerson looked lost and almost scared to touch the ball on the offensive end.

We’ve seen him fumble more balls than Arian Foster did during his days with the Vols. And, in late game situations, Tennessee couldn’t have Fulkerson in the game for that reason.

But, it doesn’t have to be that way. Fulkerson is talented to be a force on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. We saw a dose of his offensive game his freshman season in the Maui Invitational.

Fulkerson started the tournament scoring eight points while pulling down eight rebounds in Tennessee’s 95-81 win over Chaminade. He followed that performance with 12 points against Oregon with ten points.

We will see if Fulkerson can get going on the offensive end. If so, I don’t think people should count out him averaging seven points and seven rebounds next season.
