We’re sticking with the offensive line for our next player to watch in the spring game. As we said, player development, return to health, and recruiting are all things to improve the unit that was so historically bad last season.

Wanya Morris is a Tennessee football recruit to keep an eye on. An early enrollee, he was a five-star across all recruiting services this time last year. Although his rating on some services was downgraded to a four-star, it was really due to health concerns.

Those haven’t been an issue so far since he’s arrived on campus. Jeremy Pruitt also needs immediate help at tackle, and that’s likely where Morris will play. Versatility along the line is a big thing too, though, meaning Morris himself could move around. So pay attention to the looks he gets in the spring game on Saturday.

Despite his youth, Pruitt clearly brought Morris in for immediate help. The spring was also his big chance to make a splash given the fact that Darnell Wright and others will arrive in the summer and Trey Smith is still limited. His play Saturday will be about potential, not how polished he is. But if he thrives in the situation, the Vols could have somebody very special in their program.
