Tennessee football’s Orange and White game will provide at least a glimpse of what the Volunteers will look like in 2019. Here are five things to watch for.

There aren’t as many questions surrounding Tennessee football entering the 2019 season as there were in 2018. However, there are still a lot more than you usually have surrounding a team during an offseason.

Entering their second year under Jeremy Pruitt, the Vols have us wondering what type of steps they will take this year after a season of learning the system. Two new coordinators and three new coaches overall along with four positions being under new leadership add even a bit more to the questions.

All of this makes the spring game on Saturday very intriguing. In fact, it’s more intriguing than it was last year because Tennessee football has so many more players available to make an impact. And yes, that’s worth something.

But what does it all mean? After all, there are still a few players out or limited and numerous players arriving in the summer. So we can’t put too much stock in everything we see on Saturday. There are a few things, though, that are worth noting.

In this post, we’re going to look at those things worth watching in the spring game. We could be talking about a specific unit or a specific scheme, but there are lots of factors at play that could help determine how the season’s going to turn out.

Sure, it’s just a spring game. And everything could change by the time fall camp comes around. But the same way historians use ancient text to gather colonels of information and determine what a period of time was like, we can use colonels of information from this upcoming game as an idea of what the Vols will look like this season.

So let’s go ahead show you where to look to find those bits of information on Saturday. They don’t have these events for nothing, after all. These are five things to watch for in Tennessee football’s 2019 Orange and White game.
