No.3 – Miami Dolphins

AFC East: 2nd

Record: 7-9

What defensive tackles are on the Dolphins roster?

Yes, the Miami Dolphins are loaded in terms of numbers when it comes to defensive tackles. This is their lineup there right now: Davon Godchaux (LSU), Joey Mbu (Houston), Durval Queiroz Neto (Brazil), Kendrick Norton (Miami, Fla.), Jamiyus Pittman (Central Florida), Akeem Spence (Illinois) and Vincent Taylor (Oklahoma State).

Not only is that a solid class, but they were fifth in sacks last year overall, and David Godchaux and Akeem Spence were the top producers last year. They make a perfect combo of insane potential and solid production respectively. Durval Queiroz Neto, meanwhile, is an addition from Brazil.

However, amidst all this, the Dolphins were still next to last in rush defense last year. So they still need help when it comes to depth, and that’s where Alexis Johnson comes in. Another large, versatile prospect could really take them to another level.

What picks do the Dolphins have?

Round 5: No.151

Round 7: No.233 (from Titans), No.234 (from Steelers through Browns)

With three late NFL Draft picks, another nose tackle to add depth would be a huge plus for them. Alexis Johnson provides just that, so don’t be surprised if Miami takes a look at him. They’ve done well with former Vols in the trenches working out there before, Johnson could make sense.
